Angels

What can I say about angels… I love them. I see angels as special light beings who watch over us. I’ve always loved painting angels. Many of the art pieces reminded me of both angels and fairies. I would examine the wings, the expression (whether sensual or spiritual) and sometimes the lack of clothes would help me determine whether the piece was an angel or fairy.

I had a lot of fun painting Cupid and Psyche. I loved the way Cupid came out and the piece gave me pleasure.

Life’s Lesson is a smaller piece, but I love the message that it delivered.

Abraxas was named after Santana’s album. I love the name. I love names. If I could have hundreds of daughters to name, I would love it. I have favorite names for every letter of the alphabet.

Brigid reminds me of a warrior woman and how women learn to bring out the strength within themselves.

I loved doing Fiametta because I thought she was beautiful. She was very early piece and has remained one of my favorites.

Sleeping Bea is a special piece named after a beloved relative. I also thought she (delivered) well.

Some pieces like Citrina and Reynordyne, I believe, came out lovely. I love color. Some artists are more color driven than others. Color rules me. I dream in color. I sometimes do a piece because I want to work with a certain color.

Lori reminded me of lovely Lori Singer. She had an innocence and insouciance both at the same time.

Pilar was named after a friend and gorgeous artist, Pilar Wayne. I love speaking with Pilar on the telephone. She is so charming and her work is beyond beautiful. I own several pieces.

St. Anna (with the children) is a dear piece. I just like looking at it. The innocence and expectation that something good could happen.

And the Angels Will Sing was actually named after a song called, And The Angels Sing. I love music. I have many pieces named after songs or dedicated to the artist who made me aware of the music.

Wishes Come True…, well that speaks for itself. I wish they did. I hope they do.

As of Autumn of 2018 I have completed 28 pieces that I feel fall into the category of angels. If I did not give them special recognition it does not mean they are not special to me. Each piece had a certain meaning and a certain energy which attracted me to want to paint that piece.
